DAY 40-41 JUNE 25th -26th

DAY 40-JUNE 25th

Today we went and stayed at Kakadu Lodge it has a very nice lagoon style pool. We also think it has a very nice road for bike riding. We also went to the airfield and booked a flight for the next day. Later that day we went and had a swim at the pool. It was very refreshing. Jabiru is located 250km east of Darwin and it is very hot and humid here. The town of Jabiru is not that big the population is about 1700 and a lot of those are mining families. Total travelled 5350km.
DAY 41-JUNE 26th

This morning we went on a RUM tour (Ranger Uranium Mine) where we saw the mine in the ground. It was very big. There were lots of big dump trucks and excavators. Uranium is mineral that is taken overseas and used in nuclear power plants. For one drum which is 200 litres in size it costs $60000. Later that day We went for another swim in the pool and then we went on the plane flight that we booked. It had really amazing views. The plane was a Gippsland G8 Airvan which seated 7 plus the pilot. It was a bit of a bumpy ride because it was hot, but we got some good photos of JimJim Falls and Twin Falls and the rock escarpment. An airplane flight was a good idea because you cant get as good views and it takes two hours both ways 4WD off the main road to get to JimJim falls and it's closed at the moment because of the late wet season. When we got back from the flight we had one more swim in the pool.
