Hanoi Vietnam

Xin chao! Hello from Hanoi :) We were up early yesterday managing to take in one last big Singapore breakfast before our departure. Our flight of around 3 hours arrived around noon. A 45 minute trip from the airport went past small villages and rice fields before entering the capital of Vietnam Hanoi. We are staying in the old quarter, amongst the action in the centre of the city. Our hotel, the Hanoi Moment hotel is a boutique hotel - the rooms are beautiful and the staff so very helpful and courteous. At our doorstep is the crazy street life with vendors, motorbikes and pedestrians all vying for use of the sidewalk. Traffic is chaotic, when crossing streets you just have to force yourself to walk through the traffic and the bikes and cars just steer around each other wherever there is a gap to move forward.
We walked the streets near the hotel and then around Hoan Kiem Lake. Along the way we checked out the merchandise on offer, and tried the local popular dish pho bo (beef noodles with yummy stock) Brock had the same dish with chicken.
The lake is quite pretty with the Ngoc Son temple on the lake making it an important cultural site.
